Details: The world’s most favourite breakbeat night takes on a new direction for New Year’s Eve this year. Rather than going for the big club setting that has seen regular 1000+ crowds at both Stealth in Nottingham and the Medicine Bar in Birmingham during 2005, it is a more intimate vibe that they opt for on Saturday December 31st. A night of high quality breakbeat, house and beats at Synergy on Broad Street, Nottingham is planned with rising star of the tech house/breaks scene DJ Hal joining residents Pete Jordan, Hexadecimal and B Boy J.
DJ Hal aka Roger Watson has recently been signed to Carl Cox’s Intec Records, whilst also hammering out tune after tune under a variety of different monikers on the likes of 10 Kilo. His Red Moon alter ego was in collaboration with prolific tech house producer Tony Thomas. Pete Jordan and Hexadecimal have both had strong years in their own right. Hexadecimal have played the length and breadth of the country representing the Spectrum name (the highlight being Glade Festival) and had releases on Heavy Disco and Vinyl Addiction labels.
This night will be the last ever night at the Synergy venue before it turns into a new venue called Muse at the end of January 2006. Doors are between 10pm and 5am.
Tickets for New Year’s Eve are priced at just £7 until December 12th and then £10. Tickets venues include Funky Monkey, Selectadisc, Dogma, Westside Bar, Golden Fleece, Café El Gordos, Mint Bar, Stone BRB all in Nottingham, and Vida Bar in Derby. With only a small 250 capacity it is advised to get tickets sorted in advance.
