Gatecrasher Announces £5 Million Investment in Birmingham Night Club: 07.07.08 |
World famous lifestyle club brand Gatecrasher have announced its acquisition of Birmingham’s 2400-capacity nightclub The Works. The late night venue operator intends to invest £5 million pounds on the Broad Street site transforming it into the UK’s premier super-club. The club will now be closed until its official re-launch in the late Summer, with a red-carpet VIP opening expected at the end of September.
The venue will be stripped back to its foundation walls and completely redesigned and rebuilt into a designer led, state of the art, multi-level club unlike any other in the UK. Gatecrasher is working with a team of internationally renowned designers to create a futuristic and radical scheme with stunning bespoke features. The super-club will take decadence to a new level surpassing expectations with world-class production, luscious décor and sensational sounds to suit all tastes.
Gatecrasher remains one of the most potent and recognisable names in world clubbing and currently owns four nightclubs throughout the UK. This is the third club to be branded with the Gatecrasher name alongside Gatecrasher Seven in Leeds and Gatercrasher Loves Nottingham. The company also owns Area nightclub in Watford, which will undergo a substantial refurbishment and rebrand in the near future.
Gatecrasher is currently undergoing a nationwide search for architecturally significant buildings to convert into nightclubs across the UK. Cities including Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton, Liverpool and Dublin have all been earmarked as part of the Group’s expansion plans through 2008 and 2009.
The refurbishment of the club begins this week with more details to be announced soon.
