Tokyoblu Moves Edinburgh Venue: 06.02.08 |
They say nothing stays the same and that’s exactly true for Tokyoblu.
After a successful tenure at Ego, the time has come to move to a new venue which promises to unleash a whole new era for Tokyoblu. New home Cabaret Voltaire is considered by many in the industry as one of the best venues north of the border, including recently being nominated in the SLTN nightclub of the year category, and this represents an important step up for the team. The Tokyoblu camp is brimming with confidence after a huge 2007 and this move is a pulsing statement of intent from a multi-faceted team who have made Fridays in the Scottish capital unmissable.
Because as one of Scotland’s hottest parties and one of the UK’s best kept secrets, the collective that combines a full live band, resident DJ duo, consistently inventive and rocking productions AND a club night, Tokyoblu is arguably one of the most exciting propositions around right now as they consistently re-invent just where the boundaries for house music and clubbing should be set and the fast beckoning 2008 could just be their year.
John Hutchison, founder of the collective and one of TB’s resident DJs, explains that:
“We’ve had a great time at Ego and have some amazing memories but we’ve realised it’s time to move on from there as we aim to make a major impact on the UK clubs scene in 2008. 2007 has seen the club and Tokyoblu camp achieve a lot both collectively and individually but we all feel that we have reached a pivotal point for the club and we are really looking forward to taking our brand and concept to a fantastic new home which has the perfect set-up for us.”
