Jimmy Bell - “The legend in the making” One Week To Live: 14.11.07

Following on from recent lock-out gigs in Newcastle and Leeds, DJ Jimmy Bell is set for a jet-set finale to 2007. Within these shores there are more gigs lined up for Hareem in Newcastle and a second showing at Halo in Leeds, as well as a one-off special at the newly refurbished Room in Knutsford – for “One Night in Paris”. Further afield, high profile gigs are set to follow in December, including another whirlwind trip with Ministry of Sound to Mauritius, rounding off his best year yet at an outdoor festival in Hyderabad, India.
Known for his technical ability and fine track selection, Jimmy spins at the more underground end of the house spectrum, whilst keeping things funky. As well as gigs in his hometown of Manchester for clubs like Venus, 2Kinky and Ultima, he sees the globe as one big dancefloor. International gigs opening up after his residency at the infamous Supperclub in Amsterdam, with gigs following for Supperclubs in Rome and San Francisco and more to follow in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
In terms of production, Jimmy makes music as Soundstream. Following the successful re-working of the 80’s iconic track ‘Fade to Grey’ (charted by DJs like Stonebridge and spun across dancefloors and airwaves) he’s currently in the studio working on some fresh tracks to satisfy a tune-hungry clubland, including the anticipated follow-up, Shake It. He is also setting up his own label - Friday Diner’s Club – to manage both his own output and that of fellow artists. Check Jimmy out at the following selected gigs:
