With only a fortnight to go until the closing party at Pure Pacha on the White Isle we thought we would catch up with DJ Joe T Vanelli before his stint on the 21st at one of Ibiza's finest weekly events, Pure Pacha.
Q1: What does Ibiza mean to you?
A1: The place where we’ve to be. In the right moment, in the right venue, with the right people.
Q2: Can you tell us about your first experience of Ibiza?
A2: It was in the first 90’s. I felt an incredible, magic energy. I played for Renaissance in Pacha. I was very involved, I don’t why I was to able to stay tuned and concentrated about my dj set. Maybe thanks to The Elefant Restaurant where I ate before my gig.
That restaurant was full of pictures dedicated to this big animal, all made with different colours. Different colours, different cultures for a energy exchange.
Q3: Was very different to your Ibiza visits now?
A3: Now Ibiza is more commercial. Globalization arrived here too. In the 80’s and 90’s the white island was really a promised land, clubbers were discovering a brand new reality, a new way of living dance events. Now all the promoters prefear to think to attendance and money. Pacha Ibiza is different, Pacha crew thinks more to the quality of the events an anyone.
Q4: What have you got planned for your set at pure pacha?
A4: Good music, beautiful girls…
Q5: Name your top tips for Ibiza (places to go, eat, drink etc)
A5: I would like to come in the Elephant restaurant. And go in the old town where only walkers can come in.
Q6: What is special about playing Pure Pacha?
A6: I’m really proud to work with Pete Tong, an icon, a number one that gave the top impulse to dance music. We all have to thanks Pete for Essential Selection, the best window for dance music by radio. To have a party with Pete is one of the goals I wamted to get. A big opportunity.
A7: what’s your favourite Pure Pacha memory?
A7: My song in one Pacha Compilation. About the gigs… In September it will be my first time… I’ ll tell you about my memory after it.
Q8: Finally, what else are you up to at the moment?
A8: My brand new album, out after summer.
