Details:Things are getting Out of Control! ...Seriously out of control..., as Tim Healey of Coburn fame, and Bristol based Drum & Bass giant TC (Dub Recordings, Dstyle, Valve, Test, Beats, V, BBK ) are about to drop an utterly Big & Dirty tune: ‘Out of Control’.
Tim Healey ( Coburn) released the massive ‘We Interrupt This Program’ (Data) 2006, which was proclaimed as ‘the coolest and strangest record this summer’ by Music Week: The track went on to score a Citroen advert, feature in HBO TV series ‘Heroes’ and became an club anthem in its own right. Since then Tim’s been kept busy both constantly touring and in his studio on a number of projects and collaborations with artists like Steve Mac, TC, Atomic Hooligan, Dylan Rhymes and Pablo Decoder of The Death Kit.
With his productions consistently supported by Eddy Temple Morris (XFM), Pete Tong, Zane Lowe, Annie Mac, Annie Nightingale (BBC R1), Tim has remixed a slew of hits for a who’s who of stars from Gwen Stefani & Pharell to The Freemasons, The Stranglers to Nirvana, Rod Stewart to The Black Rebel Motorcycle Club. He has also extensively toured Asia, South America & Brazil where he’s established himself as the top electro artist, headlining massive outdoor parties to 30,000+ crowds.
In the original mix of “Out of Control” TC’s seductively sleazy vocal slithers into earshot, before the track lets rip with what promises to be the most infectious bass-line of 2009: sounding like a future-electro mash-up of ghetto-house and UK garage. With 200,000+ plays on myspace.com/djtimhealey, it’s simply irresistible, and destined to do dance-floor damage in any environment.
In the remix pack, the uber-talented, and rising star, Grum, steps up with his trademark shiny 80’s production, sounding like Tim & TC’s spangled younger brother at his school disco, throwing down some highly polished shapes in a Mylo-esque style. Lazy Jay's remix is pure big room Ibiza – progressive-uplifting-electro at its best: the kind of euphoric, hands in the air expansiveness that will be bringing people up all over the white island. Pablo Decoder's mix mangles the original and follows a more druggy-house route: super-compressed bendy-bass and funky groove driving you on till the dawn.
With Tim Healey remixes to come for X Press 2 (Skint) and Deekline & Wizard, forthcoming releases coming on Menu and In Stereo, an imminent solo album (2009) and a producer series sample CD for Loopmasters, you’ll be hearing a lot more from Tim Healey.
"mash-up manipulator Tim Healey blows the speakers apart with his trashed-out sound... the music is as cutting-edge as you’d find in any London club "Tim Healey's DJ set, Burning Man 2008, DJ Mag Nov 2008. |
