Details: Fresh from being nominated best producers at the breakbeat awards N.A.P.T. return, signing over from Sub Frequency Funk to parent label Funkatech for their brand new four-part ‘N-Funk’ series, serving up a warning to those who might be thinking the breakbeat milk may have gone sour. 2007 saw them go from strength to strength with their boundary breaking ‘Contrast’ series followed by the massive Beatport #1 breaks best seller ‘The Rollers ft. Skibadee’. Their unmistakable ‘N-Funk’ sound has won them fans across the board from Miles Dyson to Eddie Temple Morris, Meat Katie to Kissy Sell Out, while their acclaimed DJ sets have seen them recently tour the US, Australia & New Zealand & won them a new quarterly residency at the long running Supercharged night in Brighton.Fresh from their amazing remix of ILs on Botchit & Scarper, Napt are back with the goods!

First up on the N-Funk series & paying homage to that most treasured of percussion instruments is ‘Gotta Have More Cowbell’. Sampling that legendary Saturday Night Live studio session with Christopher Walken, NAPT lay down an absolute dance floor detonator, activated all the way from their new underground studio hideout. A golden 70’s horn-drenched hyped-up drop out soon gives way to the rudest of bass lines with the guys getting busy on the live percussion and drums. After rolling out the bass line stinkyness with finesse watch for the switch & the most outrageous funk workout twisting it up & inside out & taking the roof off as only NAPT know how.

On the flip switching it up once more is ‘Heart Of Stone’, a slower paced forward thinking boundary breaking slice of N-Funk magic. A lush musical intro twists into a futuristic gypsy tinged hardcore-esque shocker before mutating back into a deep and sensual roller, laying down a more emotive melodic vibe over the clicking swinging beefy rhythm section. Their unique ear for subtly balancing the organic and the electronic really comes through here.. yet another reason why these guys are being applauded as one of the most exciting producers in breaks!
