Details: CARWASH the Disco Revolution hits Ibiza for Summer 2009
Carwash is raring to shine its gloriously decadent light of Disco into the darkest recesses of Ibiza’s hard-edged dance scene as it takes over Saturday nights at the super glamourous club El Divino, beautifully located at the new Marina overlooking Ibiza Town's old town.
"We’re swapping minimal noise for dirty bass and hand-clappingly funky good grooves, and some of our famous DJ mates are promising to come and play classic disco and funk sets for us, as long as its all unannounced and spontaneous" enthuses Carwash head honcho and DJ, Nigel "The Deckster" Atkins.
And if you thought Carwash was all classic disco then think again. Its all about the Disco revolution, fusing the best bits of Dalston’s rebirth of Disco underground party scene (think Horsemeat Disco, Disco Bloodbath etc) with a hedonistic blend of the best in disco music. Carwash has evolved to encompass this new scene, joining the disco dots between the classic and the nu sounds (later in the evening), and with its status worldwide is set to explode disco onto the Ibiza scene this summer.
As London’s longest running clubbing event and the world's only international Disco club brand, Carwash, is working with their rather stylish Parisian counterparts and some of East London’s best Disco DJs to bring this electrifyingly cool new Disco revolution to the white isle of Ibiza for Summer 2009.
Alongside the new and classic disco sounds, Carwash will be hosting live performances from original Diva's like Sister Sledge (TBC), the inimitable and island fave, Barbara Tucker, Kim Mazelle and hot new disco sister, Shena, and there's also going to be those unannounced Disco and classics only sets from Ibiza’s biggest house DJ names…watch this space for line ups and more.
As well as re-igniting disco on the dancefloor in Ibiza, Carwash are also hugely proud to boogie away the recession and shout about El Divino's unheard of 5 Euro flat rate drinks tickets!!
