Turnmills to me is the best clubbing venue that London has to offer. Don't get me wrong because there are other great venues but to me Turnmills has something more, something special. Its reputation speaks for itself and plays host to many club nights with many well known DJ's coming back time and time again to play to the clubbers that keep coming back for more.

Tonight was no different; Heat is a very popular event in the clubbing community and it attracts a mixture of crowds although most are antipodean. It is an event that is well known for its pure Hard House and uplifting Trance and people that go to it enjoy it so much that they keep coming back for another serving.

You automatically feel comfortable in this venue and with its 4 rooms, linking corridors, seating areas and 4 bars, it's very easy to get around the club and get a drink for that matter.

The main room was very crowded at around 12pm and the atmosphere was starting to generate. Turmills boasts one of the best sound systems in the country and I can confirm that they do. The sound is perfect. It is loud, sharp and clear and you can feel every beat move from the floor upwards. The lasers and lighting effects projecting around the room just add to the already pumping atmosphere.

Steve Hill got things started in the main room with some great beats but his mixing was a bit off. Steve Blake was superb. He got the dance floor pumping with some very uplifting tracks.

The funky room was held up in the Anexo Bar and opened at around 2-30am. The Anexo Bar is a great venue and often hold private parties. On March the 15th from 9 -2am there is a free party hosted by Brad 212 Finlay before City Loud starts. A visit to the party guarantees entry into City Loud for only 5 pounds. (Review to follow)

Matt Williams played a very tribal influenced set and was backed up by a live saxophonist. It was absolutely brilliant stuff.

Brad 212 Finlay played from 4-6 and played an absolute funky set of US House. The top floor of the Anexo Bar was getting full and the dance floor crowded as more and more people were coming to dance to 212's set. He is a DJ to watch out for in the future and his music guarantees to get the dance floor pumping.

It was another successful event by Heat and I'm sure there are many more to come.
