It was my first big
night out clubbing since New Year's at Fevah which
coincidentally was also held at this same venue.
I was looking forward to coming back to this venue
as I had a brilliant New Years here and was hoping
tonight was going to be just as enjoyable.
Once again I find myself going to another Hard Dance
event after I told myself that after Heat at Brixton
Academy I would cut back or even completely not
go to any more. I think I just went through a phase
of 'No More Hard House Nights' and because of my
need to dance and release some tension, 'as one
does', I think I was slowly coming out of it.
We arrived at the club at 12:15 and the place was
pumping already. Once again I will tell you that
this is a great venue and attracts a mixture of
crowds. With 3 rooms, a large bar and lounge area
it's easy to get comfortable and soak up the very
social vibes in the atmosphere.
A few drinks down the hatch and already dancing
to some funky tunes in the main room. I think the
crowd was enjoying it just as much as I was. The
sound system was great and the purple and blue lighting
adding to the very funky atmosphere. People were
very smartly dressed at that. Overly smart. I was
beginning to wonder whether or not I should go home
and change. It didn't seem like the normal clubbing
crowd at all, but then again who says there is a
dress code for clubbing and after all this is the
prestigious Ministry of Sound.
Fergie started his set at 1am in the other room
and instantaneously the crowd almost transformed
themselves completely and began to 'let their hair
down'. Fergie is a great DJ and tonight he proved
it 100 times over. He played a very progressive
set with a tribal edge. At times it was uplifting
and at times it was very hard. It just goes to show
that he can play different sets and not only his
Hard House norm and still he is one of the best
DJ's that UK has to offer. Go Fergie!! He played
till 3am and the crowd loved every minute of it.
The 'baby box' room was pumping. The music was hard
with a funky bass-line and surprisingly the room
was not packed as it normally is. Their loss, not
mine. I couldn't have asked for better beats.
That's two great nights I have had at this venue
now and one me and my friends, will definitely be
coming back to. |
