Saturday 3rd May will, as the song goes “be a night to remember......"

Now a rationed Cream fan, the excitement alone of returning to the home of Cream to listen to the Ibiza sounds of DJ's such as Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Guy Ornadel, Louis Edwards, Paul Hillier and John Carter to name but a few was nearly to much to take but I managed not to wet myself.

The old goose bumps returned walking towards the club and seeing the trusty old smoke machines bellowing from the heavily manned entrance and the thump of music in my DD chest.

I was relieved to see that the venue itself had not altered and neither had Cream's up for it crowd, which was buzzing more so than usual. Shoulder to shoulder with other clubbers and dripping with sweat after being in there forty minutes, I felt like I was back at home and cared not about the creases appearing in my designer dress or the legendary mud splashed up my pins!

The Annexe was our first stop, an excellent choice if I do say so myself. Already full of geared up Jon Carter fans, he dared not disappoint and warmed us up with a mixture of funky and uplifting tunes not too hard and not to soft just righhhhhht. As well as a bouquet of new mixes there were also a few classics which he played to his advantage taking the revved up crowd up and down like yoyos. It wasn't too busy at first so there was room to jump around and such like behavior, but as the club filled up so did the Annexe and the heat became too much and a move was on the cards.

After a celebrity spotting-less visit to the VIP area which was used as a cloakroom, due to the amount of fellow ravers in attendance, I went to the bar and got on the tequilas to calm my nerves in preparation for Tiesto's set! As the bar was jam packed we went in to the main room armed with a bottle in each hand.

Tiesto made the main room worthy of its name, it felt like an illegal rave bouncing from side to side, arms up in the air and eyes closed (Not that I've ever been to one)! His amazing set consisted of banging and original trance. His uplifting tunes had the whole room flying, literally! Indisputably, he took the crowd back to Cream in Amnesia while still wowing us with progressive and captivating unheard sounds. After an hour or so, we ventured to the courtyard.

Again jam packed, Paul Van Dyk aka trance master had the roof off when we arrived, mid set. Here we experienced a totally different atmosphere to the main room, but still electric. Churning out trance as only he could, the room was full of experienced, not easily pleased clubbers. Justifiably, they were more than satisfied as his set was second to none and programmed to perfection. No room for jumping up and down in here, dirty dancing to dirty music was the mood and we loved every minute!

After a good few hours of full scale partying we drifted back to the annexe ready to collapse, but again we were wiped up into another frenzy as Louis Edwards had a now heaving crowd screaming with delight as he banged out an amazing compilation consisting of Kylie, Justin Timberlake, Vanilla Ice and the trusty old Liverpool favorite "tag team back again...whoop there it is.....", as well as slipping in some breakbeat, which is becoming increasingly popular within Liverpool.

A fantastic ending to a fantastic night! Louis in my opinion should definitely receive the gold medal of the night for the way he connected with the Liverpool Crowd.

As usual, the security was tight which helped achieve Cream's world famous safe, friendly atmosphere. As anticipated the Ibiza feel was more than captured, a huge success, and an exciting taste of what's to come this summer over in the Balearics.

This night proves as James Barton and his team do time and time again that it doesn't matter where you are with Cream and it's organisation, your guaranteed a top night with a top atmosphere, top music and of course a top crowd!
