If Hed Kandi wrote a promoter's
manual it would surely be a best seller. This night
has to be the best night I've witnessed since writing
reviews for UK-CL no mistaking. I don't think even
Deliah Smith could have cooked up a better serving.
Take
the following ingredients:
A line-up of the finest Funky Disco DJ's
A mass of sexy people, with an eye for detail
One of the finest venues in the UK
And a selection of choice tracks
Bring to the boil and serve over 8 hours and you
have a feast for the disco crazed clubber.
This night had everything you could want, the music,
the venue, the people and even stilt walking entertainment.
When we arrived at the venue around 10.45pm we were
met by crowds and I mean crowds. The front entrance
had cues stretching around the block numbering around
200+ and the guest list entrance was not much better.
Once inside the venue a packed crowd of ultra attractive
clubbers greeted us dressed up to the nines. My
first thought was for the poor soles outside who
were surely to be disappointed after their wait
in the November chill outside. The venue itself
was awash with colourful lighting effects on the
main dance floor, accompanying the disco divers
was the delightful presence of two ladies dressed
up as fairy princesses on stilts, later to become
light sabre wielding wenches in stars and stripes.
The music through out the night on the main dance
floor ebbed and flowed with tracks taken from many
of the Hed Kandi albums. One down point of the night
was the fact that the music became a little slower
towards the later stages of the night.
Room two upstairs played host to Deeper with the
likes of Matt Collins, Paul Wilkins and Craig Jensen
providing a deeper beat from that on the main dance
floor. One regret I have from the night and this
was that I didn't spend longer in that room to take
on board the serving on offer.
Pacha with all its glamorous fittings and décor
seemed to be the perfect last minute host to Hed
Kandi, one of the country's best monthly nights. |
