Details: It’s the second instalment of Shivoo’s Loughborough residency as they continue to transform the town with a new clubbing operandus mendi. Shivoo has quickly become the hedonistic nomads of the East Midlands, regularly sourcing new and exciting venues to craft their fun within, and Rapture sums this up succinctly. Possessing all the hallmarks of the infectious Shivoo formula - two rooms to spread the music across, an up for it crowd and an imaginative clubbing space geared towards increasing the clubbing experience - it’s little wonder that the residency already shows signs of becoming a classic Shivoo party destination. March’s gig continues to push towards that manifesto.
Headlining in the main room are the supremely talented Streetlife DJs. Rapidly becoming one of the most talked about duos on the scene, they have quickly blown away people’s perceptions with some tremendously talented DJing standards. Fusing a variety of genres together in a blend of quick fire eclectism, they’ve already crafted a scintillating Essential Mix, chalked up appearances at Snowbombing and world class clubs like Chibuku and Fabric, and demonstrated a tremendous production and remix flair. Their remix of Liquid’s ‘Sweet Harmony’ became one of 2007’s biggest tunes and a faithful yet entirely new update of the rave classic. Support on the evening for them comes in the form of Shivoo’s own tag team extraordinaire Parker & Pasquale and local dudes Audio DJs who will serve up some fine electro-house for all.
The second room sees local clubnight Cheap Biscuit getting in on the act. The idea of Shivoo resident Steve Gibson, Cheap Biscuit is all about blending together music and fun, as well as the odd slice of comedy. With their tongues firmly in cheek they’ve quickly become one of the most talked about parties in the Rugby and Leicester areas, crafting a reputation for injecting fun into parties. That’s exactly what they are charged with doing for Shivoo. |
